E. Kentucky 80, SE Missouri 69

RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) -Eastern Kentucky went on an 11-0 run during a 2:36 span of overtime to run its winning streak to five games with an 80-69 defeat of Southeast Missouri in McBrayer Arena Saturday night.

EKU sophomore guard Adam Leonard sent the game to the extra period when he buried a 22-foot three-pointer to tie the game at 61-61 with 0.7 seconds to play, capping a comeback from a seven-point second-half deficit of 49-42 with 8:34 left.

In overtime, the game's leading scorer, Eastern junior forward Mike Rose, scored seven points and senior center Darnell Dialls added four points as the Colonels ballooned their margin to a comfortable 77-65 lead with 1:08 to go.

Eastern Kentucky moved into sole possession of third place in the Ohio Valley Conference standings with its 10-5 record and now stand 13-10 overall.

Leonard added 18 points to the EKU attack, while Dialls had 16 and senior forward Jamaal Douglas came off the bench to notch 10 points. Rose ended with his second double-double of his career as he topped the Colonels with 11 boards to go with his 25 points.

Southeast Missouri (12-14 overall, 7-9 OVC) was paced by 6-9 senior center Michael Rembert who also had a double-double of his own (17 points, 19 rebounds). Sophomore guard Roderick Pearson added 16 points, while junior guard Jaycen Herring hit twin digits with 12 points.

Eastern hit 9-35 from three-point range (25.7 percent) and only 38.6 percent overall, while Southeast Missouri hit 40 percent from the field and stayed in the game by hitting 19-20 from the free throw line.
