BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) -Lamar Sanders scored 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Lamar, which beat Southeastern Louisiana 88-74 on Saturday night.
Sanders went 9-of-11 from the field and hit 6-of-8 free throws. Justin Nabors scored 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting, and Kenny Dawkins added 17 points for the Cardinals (13-8, 7-1 Southland). Darren Hopkins chipped in 14 points.
Warrell Span and Kevyn Green scored 18 points apiece to lead Southeastern Louisiana (13-9, 5-4).
Lamar was outrebounded 30-27 but shot a blistering 62 percent from the field for the game, compared to nearly 42 percent for the Lions. Lamar also hit nearly 62 percent of its 3-point attempts.
Southeastern Louisiana shot 100 percent from the free-throw line, hitting all 19 attempts.
Lamar led 44-42 at the break.
