SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) -Dale Lamberth scored 20 points and had nine rebounds to help Missouri State to a 71-54 win over Northern Iowa on Saturday night.
The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Bears (12-13, 5-8 Missouri Valley Conference).
Missouri State led 39-30 at halftime and pushed the lead to 24 midway through the second half. The Bears held Northern Iowa to three field goals over an 11-minute span to start the second half.
Deven Mitchell had 13 points for Missouri State, going over the 1,000-point mark for his career. Justin Fuehrmeyer had 11 points and eight assists for the Bears.
The Panthers (14-10, 6-7) were led by 11 points apiece from Adam Viet and Jared Josten.
Northern Iowa was 8-for-21 (38 percent) from the 3-point line but was beaten 38-22 on the boards. Missouri State shot 26-for-53 (49 percent) from the field and 9-for-18 from the 3-point line.
The Bears used a 14-3 run midway through the first half to build a nine-point lead. Northern Iowa cut it to 33-26 with 2:56 left, but 3-pointers by Fuehrmeyer and Spencer Laurie gave Missouri State its biggest lead of the half at 13.
