BALTIMORE (AP) -Antwan Harrison scored 15 points, Tywain McKee added 14 and Coppin State kept Winston-Salem winless on the road with a 62-44 victory Monday night.
Coppin State (7-19) has won three consecutive games for the first time in two years. The Rams (8-14) converted the game's first field goal, but never led again as Coppin State opened up an 11-point lead in the opening six minutes and increased the margin to 17 in the second half.
Darius Floyd scored 12 points and Brian Fisher added 11 for Winston-Salem. Coppin State scored 29 points off 25 Winston-Salem State turnovers.
Both teams went on 13-2 runs to start the game and were tied at 15 with 11:43 left. The Eagles then outscored the Rams 12-5 in the final seven minutes for a 27-21 lead at halftime.
Coppin State's Vince Goldsberry scored 12 points and Robert Pressey had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Coppin State opened the second half on a 13-3 run that took the Rams out of the game. Coppin State shot 10-for-19 (52.6 percent) from the floor in the second half after going 10-for-29 before halftime.
The Rams have lost all nine of their away games and have not won on the road since a victory at Bethune-Cookman on Jan. 27, 2007. Winston-Salem State outscored Coppin State, 14-5, on second-chance points.
