BOONE, N.C. (AP) -Donte Minter scored 24 points, and Appalachian State took advantage of cold shooting by Wofford to take an 83-55 victory Monday night.

The Mountaineers (16-8, 11-4 Southern Conference) hit 53 percent from the field, including a 9-for-18 performance from 3-point range, and they helped themselves to 22 points off 10 Wofford turnovers.

Wofford (14-11, 7-8) shot a cool 41 percent in the first half, and slipped to 24 percent on a 7-for-29 performance in the second half. Already trailing by 11 at the half, the Terriers never got back into the game.

A layup by Noah Dahlman brought Wofford to 24-23 with 5 minutes left in the first half, but the Mountaineers went on a 14-4 run capped by a layup by Minter with 1:35 left before halftime.

Wofford got as close as 58-49 on two free throws by Drew Gibson with 9:12 to go, but the Mountaineers would make a 12-0 run to seal it.

Ryann Abraham scored 13 for Appalachian State, Jeremy Clayton scored 12 and Eduardo Bermudez had 11.

Gibson had 13 and Shane Nichols 10 for Wofford.
