BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) -Tim Ambrose scored 19 to lead Albany, N.Y., 64-61 over Vermont on Monday night
Albany (12-12, 7-5 America East) scored 12 of the final 18 points to pull out the victory. The Catamounts fell to 12-11 overall and 7-5 in league play.
Marqus Blakely led Vermont with 18 points and 16 rebounds for his sixth straight double-double.
Vermont led 55-52 with 3:25 left in the game after Blakely hit one of two from the line. But John Iati and Brent Wilson hit back-to-back threes to put the Great Danes on top for good at 58-55 with 2:26 remaining.
Trailing 62-58, Vermont's Kyle Cieplicki was fouled with 7.2 seconds left and made two free throws. Then the Cats were forced to foul Iati, who made both free throws. With one second left, Cieplicki had an off-balance look that came up short.
