BOSTON (AP) -Freshman John Holland scored a season-high 25 points Tuesday night, leading Boston University to its fourth straight victory, a 79-53 rout of Binghamton.
BU (9-14, 6-5 America East) trailed by eight points 8:51 into the game and then outscored the Bearcats, 66-32, to hand Binghamton (10-14, 6-6) its fourth straight loss.
The Terriers, paying back a 20-point loss at Binghamton on Jan. 6, got their biggest margin of the season and their longest winning streak since an eight-game stretch in the 2004-2005 season.
Forward Max Gotzler, who had played six minutes in the last six games, posted career highs on 13 points and six rebounds in 20 minutes off the BU bench. Corey Lowe had 13 points and six assists and Matt Wolff 12 points for the Terriers, who ended the game on a 12-0 run as Binghamton didn't score for the final 4:06.
Holland, who has won the last two America East Rookie of the Week awards, scored 15 points in the first half as the Terriers went from a 21-13 deficit to a 33-30 halftime lead.
Mike Gordon led the Bearcats with 11 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Reggie Fuller and Brandon Herbert added 10 points apiece. Fuller went 5-for-5 in scoring his team's first 10 points in the game's first 4:45. He didn't take another shot the rest of the game.
