RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -Jamal Shuler and Eric Maynor combined for 38 points Wednesday to lead Virginia Commonwealth to a 75-56 victory over James Madison.

Maynor scored nine points as the Rams rushed to a 15-6 lead with 13:05 remaining. Later in the first half, VCU ran off 11 straignt points to build a 19-point lead. The Rams led 38-21 at the half, as Shuler and Maynor combined for 22 points, hitting nine of 13 field goals.

In the second half the Dukes could get no closer than 10 points and the Rams led by as many as 22.

VCU (19-5, 12-2 Colonial Athletic Association) has won 11 of its last 12 games. The Dukes (11-13, 4-10) have lost eight of their last nine.

Shuler finished with 22 points, hitting seven of nine field goals and four of five three-pointers. Maynor added 16 points and five assists.

Terrance Carter and Abdulai Jalloh each had 13 for the Dukes.
