Northwestern St. 78, Sam Houston St. 69

HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) -Colby Bargeman scored 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting as Northwestern State defeated Sam Houston State 78-69 Wednesday night.
C.J. Clark added 12 points off the bench for the Demons (11-13, 7-3 Southland). Trey Gilder added 10 points. Bargeman's points included 3-of-4 3-pointers.
Reggie Rawlins and Shamir McDaniel each scored 14 points to lead the Bearkats (18-5, 6-4). Ryan Bright added 11.
The Demons were hot from the outset, shooting 54 percent from the field in the first half to the Bearkats' 26 percent, and led by as many as 18 points. A 20-8 run in the final 10 minutes of the first half put Northwestern State up 36-22.
Northwestern State's shooting touch continued, as they shot 55 percent in the second half. Sam Houston could only close within 8 points of the Demons, twice at the end of the game.
The Demons went to the line 25 times in the second half, hitting 18.
