GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) -Stephen Curry capped a career-high 41-point performance with two free throws with 2.7 seconds left, giving Davidson an 83-78 victory over North Carolina-Greensboro and clinching the Southern Conference South Division.
The Wildcats (18-6, 16-0 Southern Conference) won their 14th straight game and earned at least a share of the division title for the fourth season in the last five.
UNC-Greensboro (13-10, 7-7) was on the verge of ending Davidson's winning streak, piling up a 20-point advantage and holding a 60-43 lead before Curry sparked the comeback. He scored 15 points in a 24-5 run that put the Wildcats ahead 67-65 with 9:09 to go.
With Davidson trailing by one, Jason Richards completed a three-point play to give the Wildcats an 80-78 edge with 57 seconds left. Davidson made a defensive stop, missed the front end of a one-and-one, but made a second stand and converted it into a free throw by Max Paulhus Gosselin. A third stop led to Curry's clinching free throws.
Richards added 16 points for Davidson.
Kyle Hines topped UNC-Greensboro with 27 points and 12 rebounds. Kevin Oleksiak scored 26 for the Spartans.
