NEW YORK (AP) -Temario Anderson scored a game-high 24 points as Quinnipiac held off LIU 89-86 Thursday night.

Evann Baker followed with 15 points for the Bobcats (13-11, 9-4 Northeast Conference). Justin Rutty added 13 points and Karl Anderson had 11.

Eugene Kotorobai scored 19 points and pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds for the Blackbirds (12-12, 4-9), who held a 41-40 lead at halftime. David Hicks added 16 points, Kyle Johnson had 15 and Jaytorna Wisseh had 14.

Tyrone Mattison, who had 11 points, connected on a 3-pointer at 16:09 of the second half to give LIU a 48-44 advantage.

The Bobcats then scored 10 straight points, seven by Baker, to take command 54-48 at 13:29.

A three-point play by Demario Anderson gave Quinnipiac a 73-63 lead at 5:23, but LIU went on a 21-12 run. A 3-pointer by Kotorobai got LIU within 85-84 with 34 seconds remaining.

Casey Cosgrove made three fouls shots down the stretch for Quinnipiac to help put the game away.
