JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) -Bo McCalebb scored 31 points, including a layup with 20 seconds left that gave New Orleans a 79-78 win over Arkansas State on Thursday night.

Arkansas State led by four with 35 seconds remaining after two free throws by Yima Chia-Kur, but T.J Worley made a quick 3-pointer. Ryan Wedel then missed a free throw, giving the Privateers (16-9, 6-7 Sun Belt Conference) a chance to win it.

McCalebb went coast to coast and scored, and the Indians (9-16, 4-10) missed three shots at the other end in the final seconds.

Chia-Kur led Arkansas State with 18 points.

McCalebb finished 12-of-18 from the field and also added seven rebounds.

Arkansas State led 31-20 with 7:34 to play in the first half before New Orleans rallied to take a 41-37 halftime lead. Then it was the Privateers' turn to blow a double-digit lead. They were ahead 53-43 early in the second half before the Indians fought back.
