BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -Maze Stallworth and Jamyron Steward had 15 points apiece to help lead Morehead State to a 64-58 win over Samford Thursday night.
Morehead State (13-11, 10-6 Ohio Valley Conference) led Samford (11-14, 8-9) by two points, 28-26, at the half. The two teams were just about equal in shooting with Morehead State making 48.8 percent of its shots to Samford's 47.6 percent. But the Eagles excelled at the free throw line, shooting 83.3 percent to the Bulldogs' 58.3 percent.
Leon Buchanan was the only other double figure scorer for Morehead State with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Travis Peterson led Samford with 16 points, which Bryan Friday and Joe Ross Merritt added 12 points apiece.
