CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -Nicchaeus Doaks had 18 points and six rebounds to lead five players in double figures as Chattanooga beat The Citadel 78-71 in Southern Conference action Saturday.

The Mocs (16-11, 11-6 SoCon), who shot 51 percent from the field, put the game away with a 15-0 first-half run. Stephen McDowell had 14 points, including four 3-pointers, Kevin Bridgewaters added 12 and Keyron Sheard had 10.

Austin Dahn scored a career-high 26 points for the Bulldogs (6-19, 1-15), hitting eight of the team's 17 3-pointers. The Citadel attempted a school-record 44 baskets from long range and shot 38 percent for the game.

Cameron Wells added 20 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists for the Bulldogs and Zach Urbanus had 11 points.

Chattanooga led 43-27 at the half and led by 17 on Marcus Watts' jumper with 13:12 left in the game. The Citadel closed the gap to six while keeping the Mocs from hitting any field goals for the last four and a half minutes. But Chattanooga went 10 of 17 from the foul line in the second half to keep the Bulldogs at bay.
