NEW YORK (AP) -Jaytornah Wisseh had 21 points on 8-for-11 shooting and seven assists, and LIU beat Central Connecticut 78-64 Saturday.

Eugene Kotorobai and Ron Manigault each added 10 points for the Blackbirds (13-12, 5-9 Northeast Conference), who held a 44-30 halftime lead.

Ken Horton's 21 points led the Blue Devils (12-14, 8-6). Marcus Palmer and Shemik Thompson each had 12 points.

After Tamir Johnson's layup at 12:55 of the first half gave Central Connecticut its last lead, 15-13, the Blackbirds took command with a 14-4 run, capped by a 3-pointer by Kyle Johnson, that made it 27-19.

Wisseh hit two free throws to close out a 6-0 run in the second half and give LIU its largest lead at 69-50.
