BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) -Casey Durham put up 19 points and grabbed four steals to lead Montana State to an 87-82 win over Sacramento State on Sunday.

The Bobcats (7-5, 15-10 Big Sky) built a 25-point lead in the first 24 minutes, padded by a second consecutive Phil Friesen 3-pointer at 16:10 in the second period.

The Hornets (4-20, 2-11 Big Sky) rallied with a 16-2 run capped by a Jason Davis dunk at 10:03 to bring the score to 68-57. Sacramento State was unable to overcome the deficit, even after picking up 18 second-period rebounds.

Sacramento State pulled within four points on a Justin Eller layup with 31 seconds left to play. Montana State answered as Friesen and Mecklen Davis each hit the front end of their chances at the line, making the Bobcat lead six, 85-79, with 13 seconds to play.

Vinnie McGhee hit a quick three with :07 on the clock, bringing the Hornets within three, 85-82.

A long inbound to Mecklen Davis led to a pair of free throws at :03 to put away the game for the Bobcats.

Divaldo Mbunga added 17 points for Montana State, while Carlos Taylor picked up 15 and a career-high eight assists.

McGhee scored 30 points for Sacramento State, while Clark Woods added 13 in the loss.

Loren Leath scored 11 points for the Hornets.

Friesen and Mecklen Davis each added 14 points for the Bobcats.
