Hampton 67, Winston-Salem 62

HAMPTON, Va. (AP) -Rashad West had 18 points, including eight in the final six minutes, to lead Hampton to a 67-62 win over Winston-Salem on Monday night.

The Pirates (15-9) trailed 33-29 at the half, shooting only 33.3 percent from the field before erasing Winston-Salem's lead early in the second period.

The Rams (9-15) got it to within 55-54 with 6:29 to play before West went on to score two jumpers and make four free-throws.

Vincent Simpson added 16 for the Pirates.

Jamal Durham led Winston-Salem with 14 points and Paul Davis added 10.
