ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -Greg Sprink scored 25 points, Cliff Harris added 23 more and both made clutch free throws in the final seconds to lead Navy to a 72-66 victory over Holy Cross on Wednesday.
Holy Cross (14-11, 5-7 Patriot League) trailed by 68-66 with a chance to tie or go-ahead with nine seconds left, but Pat Doherty missed a 2-point shot and Sprink rebounded and was fouled.
Sprink made both free throws to put Navy (14-12, 7-4) up 70-66. Harris added two more free throws with less than one second left for the final margin.
Tim Clifford posted a career-high 34 points for Holy Cross, making 14 of 18 from the floor and 6 of 8 shots at the foul line. Doherty had 11 points and Eric Meister pulled down eight rebounds for Holy Cross. Clifford also had seven rebounds.
Kaleo Kina added 12 points for Navy, with 11 of those points coming in an 20-6 run that put Navy ahead 63-55 with 4:14 to play.
The win keeps the Mids in second place in the league and it was their 11th win in 15 games since a 3-8 start.
