BOSTON (AP) -Freshman John Holland scored 23 points and Corey Lowe added 18 points and a career-high nine assists Wednesday night to lead Boston University to an easy 73-54 victory over Maine.
The Terriers (11-15, 8-6 America East) won for the sixth time in the last seven games and pulled into a four-way tie for third in the conference.
The injury riddled Black Bears (7-19, 3-10) lost their third straight, their sixth in the last seven and ninth in the last 11 games.
BU jumped to an 11-0 lead and were never threatened, leading by as many as 31 points in the second half.
Carlos Strong, returning after missing three games with a knee injury, came off the bench with 10 points for the Terriers. Holland also had six steals, four assists and three rebounds.
Maine's big man Brian Andre, who missed the last two games with a broken nose, returned wearing a protective mask and came off the bench with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Mark Socoby scored all 11 of his points in the second half for the Black Bears, and grabbed eight rebounds.
Maine scored the game's last nine points.
