NEW YORK (AP) -Kayode Ayeni scored 18 points and St. Francis, N.Y. snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 67-64 victory over Long Island University on Thursday night.
Marcus Williams had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the visiting Terriers (6-21, 3-13 Northeast Conference), while Robert Hines added 13 points and Jamaal Womack had 11.
Jaytornah Wisseh had 18 points for the Blackbirds (13-13, 5-10), while Kyle Johnson added 15 points and 11 rebounds.
After LIU took a 44-34 lead with 11:53 left on a layup by Ron Manigault, the Terriers went on an 18-3 run, capped by a jumper by Hines that made it 52-47 with 6:49 to go. Ayeni led the run with seven points.
LIU had its last lead, 59-58, on a jumper by Wisseh with 1:20 left. Williams gave St. Francis the lead for good at 60-59 on two free throws with 52 seconds to play.
The Blackbirds got within 65-64 on a 3-pointer by David Hicks with 13 seconds left but Ayeni sealed it with two free throws with 12 seconds left.
