NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP) -Matt Kingsley scored 18 points and four other teammates scored in double figures as Stephen F. Austin defeated Sam Houston State 79-57 on Thursday night.
Also scoring in double figures were Gerald Fonzie with 17 points, Nick Shaw with 14, Josh Alexander with 11 and Eddie Williams with 10.
Fonzie made 5-of-9 3-pointers for the Lumberjacks (22-3, 10-2 Southland), who shot 44 percent from beyond the arc.
The Lumberjacks scored the game's first seven points and jumped out to a 24-9 lead. They also committed just four turnovers, while recording nine steals and forcing the Bearkats (19-6, 7-5) into 13 turnovers.
Jeremy Thomas made all three of his 3-point attempts, leading Sam Houston State with 16 points. Domas Kvedys scored 10.
