BOSTON (AP) -Jeremy Lin scored 20 points, including a key layup at the end of regulation, as Harvard defeated Princeton 74-67 in overtime Friday to break a seven-game losing streak.
Harvard, trailing 61-53 with 2:28 remaining, went on an 8-0 run culminating with Lin's driving layup with 9.1 seconds left put the game into overtime. Princeton had two chances to win it in the final seconds but missed both shots, including a putback that went in and out at the buzzer.
The Crimson (7-18, 2-7 Ivy League) opened the extra session with a Lin runner, a Dan McGeary 3-pointer and a Kyle Fitzgerald tip-in to take control. Lin's overtime basket gave Harvard its first lead since 1:30 remaining in the first half.
McGeary and Brad Unger had 16 points each for Harvard, while Evan Harris added 14.
Princeton (5-18, 2-6 Ivy) remains winless on the road this season, losing all 13 of its games away from home. It was the sixth straight loss for the Tigers.
Noah Savage led Princeton with 22 points, while Kyle Koncz added 14.
