DOVER, Del. (AP) -Frisco Sandidge scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Delaware State, which beat Bethune Cookman 49-44 Saturday.
Delaware State (12-13, 9-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) never trailed en route to winning its second straight. John Holmes finished with 10 points to lead Bethune Cookman (4-9, 10-17).
The Hornets led by as much as 42-26 at the 4:53 mark when Jerel Chavis connected on a 3-pointer. Bethune Cookman put together a 16-6 run that cut the lead to 48-42 on a 3-pointer by Joey Woods with 20 seconds left, but got no closer.
Also scoring in double figures for the Hornets was Roy Bright with 14 points. Delaware State outrebounded Bethune Cookman 27-24 and forced the Wildcats into 16 turnovers.
