CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -Stephen McDowell and Khalil Hartwell each scored 19 and Chattanooga beat Wofford 82-76.
Chattanooga (17-11, 12-6 Southern Conference) jumped out to an early lead, reaching 15-2, its largest lead of the game at 16:13 in the first half.
Wofford (14-14, 7-11 Southern Conference) cut Chattanooga's lead to 40-36 by the end of the half but could never get far ahead in a game that saw Chattanooga shot 54 percent from the floor to Wofford's 44 percent.
Wofford cut Chattanooga's lead to three with less than a minute left to play, but free throw shooting helped the Mocs pull out of reach.
Also in double digits for Chattanooga were Marcus Watts with 13, Kevin Bridgewaters with 12 and Nicchaeus Doaks with 10.
Drew Gibson led Wofford with 25 points. Junior Salters had 23 and Noah Dahlman added 10.
