GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -David Kool scored 19 points and Joe Reitz added 16 points and eight rebounds to lead Western Michigan to a 74-67 win at Wisconsin-Green Bay in an ESPN Bracket Buster game on Saturday night.

The game was back and forth throughout, but the Broncos defense tied up Green Bay down the stretch. Western Michigan used a 10-2 run late in the second half to take the lead for good.

Shawntes Gary added 13 points for Western Michigan (16-10), which won for the sixth time in its last seven games.

Ryan Tillema had 13 points and Rahmon Fletcher added 10 for the Phoenix. Green Bay (13-14) lost for only the third time at home this season, but this was its second straight home defeat.

Green Bay twice cut the lead to four in the final moments but the Broncos made nine of 10 free throws in the final 1:39 to hold on.

Terry Evans matched a career-high with 16 points - for the seventh time this season - to lead the reeling Phoenix. Green Bay lost its fifth straight and fell below .500 for the first time this season.

Reitz asserted himself down low in the second half and scored 13 after the break. The senior center even showed his outside touch by drilling the first 3-point shot of his college career.

A combined 22 turnovers by the teams - 13 by the Broncos - marred a ragged first half that saw Green Bay take a 31-27 halftime lead.
