HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) -Trant Simpson had 33 points to lead Alabama A&M to a 77-67 win over Alcorn State Monday night.

With the score tied 33-33 going into the second half, Alabama A&M (10-14, 7-7 Soutwestern Athletic Conference) went on an 11-2 run. The Braves (6-22, 5-10 SWAC) managed to tie the score 49-49 on a jumper by Jarvis Williams, but the Bulldogs never let them pull ahead in the second half.

Simpson was joined in double figure scoring for the Bulldogs by Mickell Gladness with 13 points and Kudus Ogbara with 12. Gladness also had nine rebounds.

Alex Owummi led Alcorn State with 14 points and nine rebounds. Troy Jackson added 12 more, Anthony Ford added 11 and Williams chipped in with 10.
