ATLANTA (AP) -Leonard Mendez scored 21 points and Michael Moynihan had 13 points and six assists to help Georgia State to a 79-63 win over Towson on Wednesday night.

The Panthers (9-19, 5-12 Colonial Athletic Association) took a 23-10 lead with 7:03 left in the first half on a jumper by Kevin Lott.

Towson (11-17, 6-11) scored 11 straight points to cut the lead to two points. But Georgia State responded with a 12-0 run and took a 38-25 lead with 21 seconds remaining before halftime on a free throw by Deven Dickerson, who finished with 11 points.

A Lott 3-pointer helped the Panthers claim a 68-43 lead - their largest of the game - with just over nine minutes left in the game. Towson, which lost its 13 consecutive road game, came no closer than 16 points after that.

Trae Goldston scored 12 points and Justin Billingslea added 10 for Georgia State.

Tony Durant led Towson with 18 points, while C.C. Williams had 14 and Josh Thornton added 13.
