NEW YORK (AP) -Jaytornah Wisseh scored 31 points and LIU beat St. Francis, N.Y. 83-68 on Thursday night.
Kyle Johnson had 17 points for the Blackbirds (15-13, 7-10 Northeast Conference), who trailed 31-26 at halftime. David Hicks added 12 points.
Kayode Ayeni paced the Terriors (7-22, 4-14) with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Marcus Williams added 16 points. With the loss St. Francis was knocked out of contention for a conference tournament spot.
LIU opened the second half on a 25-12 run to take a 51-43 lead with 11:09 remaining on a 3-pointer by Johnson.
The Terriors closed to 55-51 on a layup by Ayeni at 7:49.
The Blackbirds responded with a 20-5 run to put the game out of reach 75-56 with 2:49 left. Wisseh closed it out with a 3-pointer.
