WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (AP) -Whitney Coleman and Yaniv Simpson each scored 20 points to lead Monmouth to a 73-64 win over St. Francis of Pennsylvania on Thursday night.

Alex Nunner added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Hawks (7-22, 4-13 Northeast Conference), while James Hett finished with 10 points. Monmouth also won the battle of the boards, outrebounding the Red Flash 26-19.

Marquis Ford had 14 points to lead St. Francis (6-22, 4-13). Devin Sweetney finished with 13 points and six rebounds, while Chris Berry added 12 points and Bassioru Deng had 10 points.

Monmouth, which hit a season-high 62.5 percent from the floor, led for most of the game but had trouble putting away St. Francis.

The Hawks led 37-30 at the break and appeared to take command with a 17-4 run early in the second half, but the Red Flash soon answered with a 10-3 run. They eventually cut the lead to 69-60 with 2:56 left to play, but would not get any closer.
