GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -Troy Cotton's 3-pointer with 2.6 seconds left lifted Wisconsin-Green Bay to a 76-73 win over Illinois-Chicago in a Horizon League game Thursday night.

Ryan Tillema scored 32 points and buried eight 3-pointers to lead the way for the Phoenix (14-14, 8-9), which snapped a five-game losing streak.

Josh Mayo's running 3 attempt at the buzzer just missed off the backboard and rim as the Phoenix held on after what was nearly a late-game collapse.

Green Bay nearly gave the game away at the foul line by missing the front ends of three straight bonus free throw attempts and four straight overall in the final 1:05.

UIC (15-14, 8-9) trailed 70-63 with just 43 seconds left but stormed back thanks to Green Bay's poor free throw shooting and some clutch shots. Karl White, Jr's 3-pointer with 8.5 seconds left tied the game at 73.

Cotton, who came off the bench, scored a season-high 15 points. Terry Evans had nine points and seven rebounds while Rahmon Fletcher dished out nine assists.

Mayo led the Flames with 18 points. Jermaine Dailey added 14 points and 12 rebounds, while White, Jr. finished with 13 points.

Tillema was the bulk of the offense early for Green Bay as started the game 5-of-5 from the floor and had 14 points in the first 6:20.

Mayo's 3 just before the buzzer gave the Flames a 38-33 halftime lead. Green Bay had a 26-22 lead but scored just seven points over the final 8:44 of the first half.
