LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) -Randall Daigle scored a career-high-tying 17 points as Louisiana-Lafayette edged past North Texas with a 63-58 Sun Belt Conference win on Thursday.
Daigle, a sophomore, also scored 17 in the January meeting between the teams, but fouled out in the game's last four minutes.
Travis Bureau added 12 points for Louisiana-Lafayette, while David Dees had 11.
Louisiana-Lafayette (14-14, 10-7) remains in a tie with UALR for first place in the league's West Division. The Trojans must lose on Saturday, while the Ragin' Cajuns need to defeat Denver in order for Louisiana-Lafayette to earn the outright division title.
North Texas (18-10, 9-8) suffered its first loss to Louisiana-Lafayette in their last five meetings.
Adam McCoy paced the Mean Green with 14 points, while Quincy Williams scored 10 and grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds. The Cajuns held reigning SBC Player of the Week Collin Dennis to nine points on 3-of-11 shooting.
Louisiana-Lafayette had a seven-point lead at the break, 34-27.
