LOGAN, Utah (AP) -Jaycee Carroll scored 30 points and Gary Wilkinson added 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead Utah State to a 86-59 win over Louisiana Tech on Thursday.
Tai Wesley also scored 16 for the Aggies (20-9, 9-4 Western Athletic Conference). Twenty-four of Carroll's points came in the second half.
Kyle Gibson scored 17 for the Bulldogs (4-22, 1-12 WAC). Dwayne Latham added 15.
The Bulldogs came within four points early in the second half, 42-38 with 15:50 to play, but trailed by double-digits most of the second half.
Louisiana Tech shot only 6-of-19 from the 3-point line and attempted just nine free throws in the game. Utah State shot 67.3 percent from the field in the game to Louisiana Tech's 40 percent and were credited with 25 assists to 11 for the Bulldogs.
Utah State burst out to a 17-7 lead at the 14:10 mark of the first half. But the Bulldogs went on a 6-0 run, sparked by three steals and aided by nine Aggies turnovers in the half. Louisiana Tech eventually caught the Aggies 23-23 after Gibson sank a 3-pointer.
Wilkinson scored seven consecutive points that helped put Utah State back on top and the Aggies led 36-31 at halftime.
The game was the 50th consecutive game in which Carroll scored a 3-point shot and his 34th-consecutive game to score in double figures.
