SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP)Amorrow Morgan had 14 points and five assists to lead Idaho State 52-51 over Sacramento State on Thursday night.
Matt Stucki had 13 points and Donnie Carson added 11 points for the Bengals (11-17, 8-7 Big Sky).
Vinnie McGhee Jr. had 10 points and Loren Leath scored nine points for the Hornets (4-22, 2-13 Big Sky), who have lost six straight games.
After Sacramento State freshman McGhee's 3-point shot tied the game at 48 with 50 seconds left in the game, Morgan's basket gave the Bengals a two-point advantage. Carson made two free throws before McGhee made a trey to end the game.
Tied at 15, Stucki scored eight of the Bengals' last 11 points in the first half that helped Idaho State take a 26-21 halftime lead.
Both teams shot poorly from the field in the first half as the Hornets were 10-for-29 (34.5 percent) and the Bengals finished 7-for-24 (29.2 percent).
Sacramento State Athletic Director Terry Wanless said before the game that he will make a complete evaluation after the season ends of the current Hornet players and eighth-year coach Jerome Jenkins, whose job is in jeopardy.
``We don't want to distract what Jerome is trying to do right now,'' Wanless said. ``That would not be fair to him. We just have to wait and see what happens.''
