STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) -Chad Troyer made eight 3-pointers and scored a game-high 27 points to lead Pacific to a 95-50 blowout of UC Davis in a Big West Conference game Thursday night.
Troyer finished 8 of 11 from beyond the 3-point arc as the Tigers made 52 percent of their 3-point shots and 67 percent of their field-goal attempts on the way to their highest scoring total of the season.
Pacific's lead reached 47 points in the final minutes as the Tigers outscored UC Davis 55-24 in the second half. Pacific also held a 36-16 rebounding advantage and its reserves outscored Davis' bench 43-12.
Steffan Johnson scored 11 points for Pacific (19-9, 9-5 Big West), which had nine other players score four points or more. The Tigers recorded their second-largest margin of victory ever in a Big West game.
David Carter and Vince Oliver each scored 13 points to lead UC Davis (8-20, 2-12 Big West), which made only 37 percent of its shot from the floor.
Troyer set a career-high for 3-pointers, making four in each half before leaving the game for the final time after converting a 3-point play to give Pacific a 74-37 lead with 9:32 remaining to play.
There were four lead changes and the score was tied twice early in the first half before Pacific took control behind Troyer's long-range shooting.
His first two 3-pointers broke an 11-11 tie and his third trey completed a 16-8 run by the Tigers. Pacific then ended the half with a 13-5 spurt that was completed by another Troyer 3-pointer.
Troyer then tossed in three more 3-pointers as Pacific began the second half with a dominating 21-5 run to build a 30-point lead and turn the game into a rout.
Troyer was 4 of 6 from beyond the 3-point arc at halftime and 4 of 5 in the second half.
