MACON, Ga. (AP) - Shuan Stegall scored 21 points, including two clutch free throws with 34 seconds left, to lift Kennesaw State to a 65-61 victory over Mercer on Friday night.

Ronell Wooten added 14 points for the Owls (10-20, 7-9 Atlantic Sun).

It was the final home game for Mercer (11-18, 6-10) under coach Mark Slonaker, who was told on Tuesday that his contract would not be renewed at the end of his 11th season. The Bears will have at least one game in next week's Atlantic Sun tournament in Nashville.

Kelvin McConnell scored on a jumper to give Kennesaw State a 60-58 lead. But Mercer quickly tied the game on two free throws made by Shaddean Aaron, who scored 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

But Stegall hit a putback and a of couple free throws to put the game away for the Owls.

The score was tied at 58 for nearly two minutes, until McConnell scored on a jumper.

Brian Pfohl led Mercer with 15 points, while James Florence added 13.
