NEW YORK (AP) -Jeremy Chappell and Jimmy Langhurst both scored 14 points and Robert Morris clinched the Northeast Conference regular-season title with a 71-68 victory over Long Island University on Saturday.

Tony Lee added 12 points for the (Colonials 25-6, 16-2), while A.J. Jackson and Mezie Nwigwe both had 11.

Jaytornah Wisseh had 21 points for the Blackbirds (15-14, 7-11) and Eugene Kotorobai had 18.

Nwigwe scored five points as Robert Morris opened the second half with 10-2 run to go up 40-36 with 15:46 to play. Two free throws by Kotorobai gave the Blackbirds their final lead of the game, 47-46 with 11:39 to go.

Chappell's jumper with 4:48 left broke a 55-55 tie and gave the Colonials the lead for good.
