RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) -Bruce Price scored 20 points to lead four Tennessee State players in double figures as the Tigers beat Eastern Kentucky 89-70 Saturday.
Tennessee State (13-16, 10-10 Ohio Valley Conference) clinched the No. 6 seed in the upcoming OVC tournament with the win.
The Colonels (14-15, 10-10 OVC) closed out the regular season with five straight conference losses.
Jerrell Houston followed Price with 19 for TSU. Gerald Robinson added 18 and LaDarious Weaver had 12 for TSU.
Both teams battled through eight ties and 11 lead changes in the first half, before TSU pulled away in the second half.
Robinson scored eight points in the last half, including four during a 9-2 run by the Tigers that gave them a 49-41 advantage with 17:54 remaining.
TSU pushed the margin to 66-53 seven minutes later and led by 20 with 6:59 remaining. Eastern Kentucky would get no closer than 12 the rest of the way.
The Tigers made 12 3-pointers, with Weaver knocking down four of them.
Adam Leonard led Eastern Kentucky with 20 points. Darnell Dials added 15 and Mike Rose chipped in with 13.
