Murray St. 98, Tenn.-Martin 59

MURRAY, Ky. (AP) -Bruce Carter's 22 points led Murray State to an easy victory 98-59 victory over Tennessee-Martin on Saturday.

The Racers (17-12 overall, 13-7 Ohio Valley Conference) held the Skyhawks (16-15, 12-8) to 35 percent shooting for the game and 20 percent from the 3-point line. The Racers also dominated the glass, winning the rebounding battle 47-23.

Carter led six Racers in double figures. Kevin Thomas scored 16 points while Tyler Holloway and Danero Thomas scored 11 points apiece for Murray State. Tony Easley and Ray George had 10 points each for the Racers.

The Racers bottled up Tennessee Martin's Lester Hudson, the nation's third-leading scorer. Hudson had just 18 points, nearly 10 points below his season average. Marquis Weddle scored 11 points and Djero Riedewald added 10 points for the Skyhawks.
