GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -Mike Schachtner scored a team-high 27 points, including a game-tying basket with 9 seconds left in regulation, as Wisconsin-Green Bay rallied to defeat Loyola (Ill.) 71-66 in overtime in a Horizon League game on Saturday night.
Ross Forman had career highs of 28 points and 15 rebounds for the Ramblers, and J.R. Blount added 25 points.
After making just two field goals over the final 10:24 of regulation, Green Bay took control in overtime, hitting 3-of-4 shots and seven straight free throws down the stretch. Schachtner scored nine points in overtime.
Schachtner's driving basket tied the game at 57-57 in the second half and the Ramblers were unable to get a shot off on their next possession. The Phoenix survived a 6 minute, 24 second scoreless drought down the stretch before forcing overtime.
Despite the win and tying with three other teams for the fourth-best record in the league, Green Bay (15-14, 9-9 Horizon League) will be on the road as the No. 7 seed in the league tournament, which begins Tuesday.
Forman, who averages just 2.6 points per game, scored 13 in the first half, including seven straight to give Loyola its first lead at 28-27.
The Phoenix pulled back ahead 29-28 at the half, but the game was a seesaw battle the rest of the way.
Ryan Tillema had 14 points for the Phoenix and Randy Berry finished with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Andy Polka had eight points and nine boards for Loyola.
