HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) -Senior Manny Ubilla kept his composure after sliding to the floor, hitting a 3-point shot on a prayer from one knee as the buzzer sounded in overtime, delivering a 72-70 win for Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday night.
For coach Tom Green, it was his 400th career win in his 25th season. For Ubilla, it was the final 3-pointer of his collegiate career.
The Knights (8-20, 4-14 Northeast Conference) will be spectators in the NEC Tournament. But the same goes for the Red Flash (6-23, 4-14).
Besides the overtime heart-stopper, Ubilla was the team's lead scorer with 21 points. Eric Hazard scored 20 points and Sean Baptiste hit 18 points and 11 rebounds for Fairleigh Dickinson.
Sorena Orandi led St. Francis with 24 points, followed by Bassirou Dieng with 14 and Chris Berry with 13.
