PHILADELPHIA (AP) -Mark Tyndale scored on a driving layup with 22.3 seconds left to play and scored six of Temple's last eight points as the Owls rallied to defeat local rival Saint Joseph's 57-56 Sunday night.

Tyndale had 13 of his 15 points in the second half, hitting all six of his shots, while Semaj Inge and Dionte Christmas each had 10 points for Temple (16-12, 9-5 Atlantic 10).

Pat Calathes had 14 points and Ahmad Nivins had 11 for Saint Joseph's (17-10, 8-6), which had won five straight over the Owls including a 68-67 victory at Temple on Jan. 26.

The Hawks led 43-29 five minutes into the second half and 52-40 with 9:44 left to play. Temple then ran off 11 unanswered points while the Hawks missed nine straight shots as the Owls closed to 52-51.

Calathes hit a 10-footer with 1:36 to play to give Saint Joseph's a 56-53 advantage before Tyndale hit a layup 12 seconds later and then made his game-winning shot. Saint Joseph's had three shot attempts in the last 10 seconds but could not score.

The Hawks, who lead the conference in 3-point shooting at 40 percent, made only two of 16 shots from beyond the arc in the game.
