NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -Justin Hare led top-seeded Belmont as it struggled but held off a feisty Campbell team 75-66 to claim a quarterfinal victory in the Atlantic Sun Conference basketball tournament.
Hare had 17 points for the Bruins (23-8 and 14-2 in the regular season), including six key points in the final 1:08 to help put the game away for Belmont.
The Bruins now play Friday against the winner of Thursday's quarterfinal game between host Lipscomb and East Tennessee State.
Campbell (10-20) got a game-high 19 points from Kyle Vejraska in the loss.
Belmont led 44-29 at halftime and appeared to have the game well in hand when it took a 48-29 lead with 18:21 to play in the game. From that point, however, the Camels scored 11 consecutive points to get back in the game and eventually pulled as close as 51-47 on a basket by Jonathan Rodriguez with 11:37 to play.
Belmont stretched the lead back to as many as nine points only to have Campbell cut it to four again on Oladapo Fagbenle's basket with 5:20 to play, making the score 60-56.
In addition to Hare, Shane Dansby had 12 points for Belmont and Matthew Dotson added 10. Rodriguez added 17 and Jake Wohlfeil 10 for the Camels.
