MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -Andrew Hayles had 28 points to lead Alabama State to a 73-61 win over Grambling State Thursday night.
Alabama State was leading 46-30 at the half. Grambling State outscored the Hornets 31-27 in the second half but couldn't pull off win.
Rashad Provitt and Brandon Gordon added 10 points apiece for the Hornets.
Andre' Ratliff led the Tigers with 16 points, while Jared Riley and Duran Diaz added 10 points apiece. Anthony Williams snagged 10 rebounds for the Tigers.
