POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) -Matt Stucki made two free throws with 14 seconds left and Demetrius Monroe sank one with three seconds to go as Idaho State edged Montana 67-65 Saturday night in a Big Sky Conference quarterfinal game.
The Bengals (12-18) advanced in the Big Sky tournament and will play Portland State on Tuesday in Portland, Ore.
With 59 seconds left, Idaho State matched its biggest lead at 63-55 with 59 seconds left.
But in the next 45 seconds, Idaho State made only one free throw, while the Grizzlies' Andrew Strait hit two layups and teammate Matt Martin sank a 3-pointer to cut the Bengals' lead to 64-62 with 14 seconds left.
After the two free throws by Stucki and one by Monroe, Montana's Cameron Rundles connected for a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Idaho State was led by Logan Kinghorn, who had 17 points and 10 rebounds. Three other Bengals scored in double figures; Stucki and Austin Kilpatrick, with 11 points each, and Donnie Carson, with 10.
The Grizzlies (14-15) were paced by Martin, with 16 points, including five 3-pointers; Ryan Staudacher, with 14 points, and Strait, with 13.
The Grizzlies led 32-26 at halftime. In the second half, the Bengals hit 77.8 percent of their field-goal attempts.
Idaho State outrebounded Montana 36-24.
