MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) -Jaycee Carroll scored 23 points and Gary Wilkinson added 17 to lead Utah State to a 78-58 victory over Idaho on Saturday night for a share of the Western Athletic conference title.

The Aggies (23-9, 12-4) tied for the conference crown with Boise State, Nevada and New Mexico State, but will enter next week's WAC Tournament as the No. 1 seed due to the fact they own a 4-2 record against the league's other co-champions.

The Vandals (8-20, 5-11) go into the tournament as the sixth seed.

They were led by Trevor Morris and Clyde Johnson, with 14 and 13 points, respectively.

The Aggies enjoyed a comfortable lead throughout, shooting 63.6 percent (28-for-44) from the field.

Utah State jumped out to a 17-5 advantage following a steal and dunk by Tyler Newbold. The Aggies built that lead to as many as 20 in the first half, 39-19, when Stephen DuCharme hit a jumper with 2:11 left before halftime.

Utah State shot 65.4 percent (17-for-26) in the first half, while Idaho converted just 34.5 percent (10-for-29) of its first-half field goal attempts.

The Vandals couldn't close the gap to any less than 17 points in the second half.

Idaho was without the services of its leading scorer, Jordan Brooks, who was suspended for Saturday night's game.
