AKRON, Ohio (AP) -Al Fisher hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer that prevented Kent State from blowing a 13-point lead in the final 2 minutes in a 61-58 victory over Akron on Sunday night.

The Golden Flashes (25-6, 13-3 Mid-American Conference) rolled to a 32-15 lead at the half and were on top by 13 with under 2 minutes left.

But the Flashes had three turnovers during an 8-0 run by Akron that cut the lead to 55-50 with 59 seconds left. A free throw by Jordan Mincy and a dunk by Rodriguez Sherman put Kent State up 58-52 with 28 seconds remaining.

Nick Dials hit a 3-pointer with 21 seconds left and then after a turnover by Mike Scott, Jeremiah Wood, who led Akron (21-9, 11-5) with 23 points, hit a tying 3-pointer with 8 seconds remaining.

Fisher, who led the Flashes with 17 points, then made the game-winner.

Haminn Quaintance added 13 points for Kent State.

Brett McKnight had 11 points for Akron.
