FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - California receivers DeSean Jackson and Robert Jordan and leading tackler Thomas DeCoud were held out of the starting lineup and didn't play the first quarter of the Armed Forces Bowl on Monday against Air Force.
Coach Jeff Tedford said the three didn't start ``due to violations of team rules.'' He didn't elaborate. All three players entered the game in the second quarter. The Bears trailed 21-0 before Jackson and Jordan got on the field.
Jackson, one of the top receivers and punt returners in the nation, had 60 catches for 681 yards and five touchdowns in the regular season. Jordan, a senior, had 41 catches for 541 yards and two TDs. Sam DeSa and Lavelle Hawkins started in place of Jackson and Jordan.
Brett Johnson, a sophomore, made his first career start in place of DeCoud, a senior with 106 tackles.
