UCLA hires Bob Palcic as offensive line coach

LOS ANGELES (AP) -Bob Palcic, who spent the past two seasons as offensive line coach at Wisconsin after 12 years in the NFL, was hired for the same job on new UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel's staff Monday.
Palcic coached in Westwood in 1993, when UCLA won the Pac-10 title and played in the 1994 Rose Bowl. Neuheisel was an assistant on that staff.
``I can't tell you how thrilled I am to bring Bob back to UCLA,'' Neuheisel said.
Palcic helped Wisconsin to a 9-4 record and an appearance in the Outback Bowl, where they lost 21-17 to Tennessee this season.
The 59-year-old coach also worked for the New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons. Besides Wisconsin, Palcic's college resume includes stints at Southern California, Ohio State, Arizona, and Ball State.
Palcic's family has football ties, too. Son Joe is defensive coordinator at Indiana; daughter Amy works in the Cleveland Browns' media relations office; and daughter Monica is married to Saints linebacker Mark Simoneau.
