LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -Louisville linebacker Lamar Myles will skip his senior season and enter the NFL Draft.
Myles led the Cardinals with 128 tackles during his junior year and was a second-team All-Big East selection, one of the few standouts on a defense that struggled during a disappointing 6-6 season.
Myles recorded double-digit tackles in six games, including a career-high 22 in a loss to Kentucky. Myles also ended 2007 with eight tackles for loss, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
``The time is right for me to move on to the NFL,'' Myles said Friday. ``The coaching staff helped me improve as a player and I look forward to competing in the NFL.''
Myles is the second Cardinal to declare early entry for the draft, joining wide receiver Mario Urrutia.
