KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) -Nate Meyer kicked a 21-yard field goal with 1:16 left to cap an 18-play, 84-yard drive as Western Michigan beat Miami of Ohio 27-24 on Saturday.

The Broncos (7-2, 5-1 Mid-American) escaped another upset, one week after they rallied from 12 points down in the fourth quarter to beat Eastern Michigan 18-15.

Western Michigan's Mark Bonds rushed for a career-high 142 yards on 28 carries. Tight end Brandon Ledbetter tallied nine catches for 101 yards and two touchdowns, all career highs.

Ryne Robinson had his third 10-catch game of the season for Miami (1-9, 1-5). He totaled a personal-best 180 yards, giving him 1,001 yards for the season.

Robinson is the first player in Miami history to eclipse 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons.

Miami's Mike Kokal threw for 282 yards on 16-of-26 passing with one interception. Andre Bratton rushed for 72 yards on 12 carries for the RedHawks.

Broncos linebacker Ameer Ismail tied a school record with his 15th sack of the season.

The victory keeps Western Michigan in the hunt for the MAC West Division title. The Broncos play at Central Michigan (6-3, 5-0) on Friday night.
